Geddes Historic Village is easy to find. The Village is
located just south of scenic downtown Geddes, South Dakota, on
Main Street. Geddes itself is located on SD-50, the Historic Lewis
and Clark Trail.
from the west?
EXIT I-90 at Kimball, SD. Take the SD-45 S EXIT 289 and head south
toward PLATTE for 24.5 miles. At the four-way stop in Platte (Hwy.
44), turn left onto SD-44 / SD-50 / E 7TH ST. Seven miles later,
continue to follow SD-50 to the right, heading south for another
seven miles to Geddes. Make your first exit to the left and turn
right at Main Street and pass through historic downtown Geddes.
The Historic Village is on the left.
from the east?
Via I-29 north of Sioux City, IA, take the SD-46 EXIT 47- toward
IRENE / BERESFORD. Turn LEFT (west) onto SD-46 and follow about
1 1/2 hours through Irene and Wagner, SD. Pass the popular Fort
Randall Casino and Hotel and you arrive at the majestic Lake Francis
Case at Pickstown, SD. At the four-way stop, turn right on US-18
/ US-281 / SD-50 and follow it north 6 miles to Lake Andes, SD.
At the four-way stop, turn left onto SD-50 and follow the rolling
hills another 15 miles to Geddes. Make your first exit to the
right and turn left at the four-way stop. The Historic Village
is on the right.
From the north: Arriving from the Sioux Falls/Mitchell
area, exit I-90 at the Plankinton/ Stickney EXIT (US-281)
and follow south to Corsica, SD. Just south of Corsica, turn left
(west) on Hwy. 44 and follow to SD-50. Turn left, heading south
for another seven miles to Geddes.
From the south: Arriving from the East River region/Nebraska,
cross the Fort Randall Dam on US-18 and turn left at the four-way
stop onto US-18 / US-281 / SD-50. Follow it north 6 miles to Lake
Andes, SD. At the four-way stop, turn left onto SD-50 and follow
15 miles to Geddes.
