Las
personas famosas... (presentation)
Part 1 - !Viva la revoluccion!
(South America)
- Che Guevara
- Pablo Neruda
- Simón
Bolívar
For this project your
group is required to:
-
Create a presentation explaining or
illustrating your interpretation of the history of political and social
revolution in Spanish-speaking
South America.
-
WHAT?!?
That’s right! We’ve discussed three South American revolutionaries and their
quest to free and unite the peoples of South America from Spanish
colonialism. We viewed videos or movies about each person’s life and
struggles. We checked out the links Mr. Janes put on our Spanish II Web page
(go there via the TALON link on the ACHS page). And we discussed all three
as well as the apparent relationship they had to each other.
-
Here is your task:
-
Part I – The Revolution
Use the library, eText (see the
links on Spanish II page) and World Wide Web to research the history of
political and social revolution in Spanish-speaking South America.
-
Part II – The Revolutionaries
Based on the general
information you will find, do you see a relationship between all three
men? Did they influence each other and if so, how?
-
Part 1 – The Rest
You will discover at least
two more historical figures who took part in this revolution. How did
they contribute to the quest for freedom? What did they do and why are
they considered important.
-
Part IV – The Presentation
-
You will organize this information into
a ten-minute presentation to be presented in class.
-
Your Powerpoint slide show will consist
of no less than fifteen slides, two of which will be a cover
slide and a bibliography slide.
-
Using images you find as well as
snippets of text you find in your research as content for the Powerpoint
slide show. I encourage you to use web links, animation and custom
timing selections available with the program. However, you will not be
graded on your Powerpoint skills. You will be graded on the evidence you
provide of your knowledge and understanding of the topic.
-
Remember, YOU are the presentation, NOT
Powerpoint – You will not be just reading off the screen.
Save the presentation to the “Las Personas
Famosas” folder (under shared-students-MrJanes) so Mr. Janes may retrieve it for
grading purposes. Name it “South America” to identify it as you’ll be adding
more during the semester.
