"My Home" -  Janie

This town I live in, I can’t call my home

This town, this place, I can’t see it as my home

I’ve moved three times, three times too many

I wanted to stay in one place, but it was the mother

who made me change my mind

It is really hard, to call a place your home

Because what it comes down to is something that you don’t know

If you’ve moved more than once, you may know

It doesn’t matter where you were born,

Where you live now,

Any town, city, country, place,

Can be your home.

This is why I say that this isn’t my home

Yes, I have a house and a small family

It still isn’t my home

I like a few things though, like the snow and my family

But here in these Native territories, it’s a tough way of living

You get along with some, others you’re enemies

But I know, you know, and everyone knows that someplace…

Has to be your…

Home.

And you can start right here by calling this town your home.
