 English 11
- Use

unit.
- English 11 traditionally is a mix of genres of American Literature and
advanced writing. In this classroom you will have the opportunity to have some
choice regarding reading expectations (see
A/R).
- We will master the Elements of Literature and use them to
discuss and write about literature, both assigned to and chosen by the student.
- The writing focus will be mastery of the classic
five-paragraph persuasive essay and the MLA Research Paper.
- Assigned literature will include essays, poetry, short fiction, drama and
novels.
- Students will have multiple opportunities for supplementary assessments
utilizing high-interest media such as art, music, video and drama.
