Where Baja meets America - The Immigration Debate

The U.S. has two neighbors, one to the north and one to the south. We viewed and discussed video about Baja and the Copper Canyon, the peninsula on which Tijuana is located. The south is beautiful and tranquil. But the north is much different.

We also viewed and discussed a video about children caught in between the promises of NAFTA and the reality of its impact on our neighbors. What does it mean to live as a migrant worker? What is life like for a child on the streets of Tijuana? And how can this make a dream of life in America more like a vision of the promised land?

Let's discuss our southern neighbor, Mexico, and the current debate regarding immigration. Why is this such a hot topic right now? Is there a right and wrong to the argument or something in between? How do you feel about it?
