"untitled" - Joe

It stands there with confidence

I stare at it, it stares back.

Looking firm and stationary like a mountain

With just as much majesty

It’s coat shines in the sunlight.

It is happy

When with others

Galloping wildly across the plain

They are thunder, shaking the ground

They are like a spirit that can’t be broken

But not free anymore

Just stuck behind a fence

I am friends with it now

It approaches me without fear

I pet it and it smiles

Opening the gate, I climb on it’s back

Gripping it’s mane with anticipation

“Naahs” with satisfaction it begins to run

Picking up speed, we chase the sun

To the end of the day
