Web Page Design

Prerequisite: Computer Applications/Multimedia Introduction

Course Description: Students will learn the principles of creating websites using Macromedia Dreamweaver. Explore the Dreamweaver WYSIWYG environment and also learn how to view and manage HTML and other code such as CSS and Java. You will learn how to define websites, create basic web pages, save pages, organize files and folders as well as create templates for the pages on your site. You will learn how to format lists and tables and you will insert and work with images, create links and know how to upload your page to the web as well as learn about cross-browser compatibility issues. You will understand Web 2.0, Open Source Technologies and their implications.

Format: Lecture-discussion, activities, applications, tests, and real-world projects
Grading Scale: Production Tests (40%), Daily Activities (20%), Production Projects (40%)
Resource Material: Course Website, On-line training sites. Internet
Software: Macromedia Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, Various programs as needed
