Writing Responsibly
Finalizing the direction and mapping it out in detail

Your assignment:

  • You have two assignments due at the end of this unit,
    Thursday, March 9:
    • 1 – Twenty-four (24) note cards (research notes) and seven (7) bibliography cards (handed in on the 9th)
    • 2 – Revised Outline (saved to the network by 4 p.m. on the 9th)

  • Revised Outline
    • Your outline will be updated to reflect your research. It’s easy! Just take your new research notes and “plug them in” to the outline. The goal of this is to get three (3) notes for each of your sub-points (3x8=24).
    • Example:

Research Note 24

  • Note cards
    • Follow the example in the book (237) as you did in your previous note card activity
    • Remember, each research note should be either a quote, summary or paraphrase (243-245)
    • The seven bibliography cards (258-302) will reflect the minimum sources expected for your research paper
      • Three books minimum
      • One periodical
      • One online resource
      • One “other” resource such as:
        • Review
        • Abstract
        • Journal
        • Thesis or dissertation
        • Interview
        • Movie
        • Music
        • Got an idea? Ask me if it qualifies!

Question: How do I cite a web site???

Answer: There are different ways! The way you need to do it for this paper is noted on the poster in the room. Here’s a helpful excerpt:

Remember, you need to follow the manuscript for each unit of the research project…
