Q: What is the definition of creativity?
-
Can
you name a favorite story that you think fits your definition?
- What makes these stories
interesting, funny or unusual?
- Some of these stories may have been
based on the writers' own experiences, while others were simply wonderfully
creative products of the imagination.
Assignment:
- Choose an interesting, funny or
unusual photo from the Phunny Photos folder Mr. Janes kindly placed in
your Creative Writing folder.
- Yes, students may use the same photo.
- In fact, I'd
be curious to see the different results of shared photos.
- Insert the photo in a new Word document.
- The location on the document is
up to you.
- Write a school-appropriate story in the Word document
about what happened before, during and after
(plot) the photo was taken.
- Show clear plot development of:
- Your story must be 500 words in length, minimum.
- Stories can be completely imaginary or you can try to
re-create the factual aspects so that your story has a straight news
approach.
- Try folding
Literary Elements
into your
story as you see fit. Adding these ingredients will only help with the
cooking and the end result will be even more tasty.
- For now, adding more elements than rising action, climax and
falling action is voluntary.
- Soon it will be required.
Save your story (MS Word) as phunny photo prose in
your folder.
