Independent Writing

Current due date: February 29.

We have studied and written three major genres, poetry, short fiction and drama. At this point you should be able to brainstorm, develop, write, revise and workshop multiple forms of creative writing.

The expectations:

  • Ten (10) pages of content due every ten days of class (average: two weeks)
    • Each project becomes an artifact for ePortfolio
  • It can be one or any combination of the genres we've studied and written:
    • Poetry
    • Short Fiction
    • Drama
  • Save your work each week as Independent1, Independent2, etc. in your Creative Writing folder
  • We will workshop all work as usual
    • Part of your grade will come from the workshop process
  • Additionally we will read and workshop selections from published writers

* In addition to the above criteria, you will be graded on both quality and quantity. I expect ten pages of real WORK, nothing less.
