Process Video (nine-week project)

 Activity:

·       In this activity you are to create a video that explains how to do something in exactly five steps.

·       The video can be a demonstration on how to make a sandwich, how to put a cover on a book, how to sharpen a pencil... anything school appropriate that you can show how to do IN THE CLASSROOM (if it cannot be taped in the classroom, it is an unacceptable topic)

·       The scene is to have only five scenes that show five, different pieces of action.

·       For this assignment, you will have to use the zoom feature as you will need to show detail as well as a wide shot of the subject to better illustrate the process.

·       You will create a storyboard describing each of the actions. There should be exactly five pieces of action/five scenes.

·       Next you are to record the shots based entirely upon the storyboard. (nothing missing either way)

Procedure:

·       You will create a storyboard describing each of the actions. Again, there should be exactly five pieces of action.  Your storyboard is due tomorrow as a homework assignment. If you do not have your homework completed, you will not be allowed to film. If tomorrow is your scheduled day to film and you do not have your storyboard complete, you will receive a zero for the storyboard and a zero for the filming grade AND you still will be responsible for finding a time Mr. Janes or Mrs. Janes can be with you IN THE CLASSROOM to film, as expected.

Use this storyboard. Complete one section of it for EACH scene (Five scenes mean you complete three of these).
Suggestion - Copy this document to your network folder and update it with each scene.

·       Next you are to record the shots based upon the storyboard.

Be sure to base your shots EXACTLY on the storyboard.  If you do not, you will automatically receive a zero for the entire assignment. Do NOT ignore this important direction.

Procedure:

q       Write/print/hand in a Storyboard about the presentation with five pieces of action with five shots.

q       Film a video (minimum of 2 1/2 minutes long, maximum of 3 1/2) capturing the activity described in the assignment.

The edited video will contain five scenes, a title, credits and transitions between each clip. Major points will be deducted if any of the above are missing as the assignment will be considered incomplete.

q       Edit video and save Movie File to your Video Production folder as: process

q       Your video will be shown to the class and critiqued with the rubric.

DO NOT ask others for help. Use your resources if need be. You should be able to do everything asked of you by now. Do not be tempted to cheat because soon you will have to edit a video IN CLASS and will not be able to ask anyone for help.
