The Conclusion

This is it!

Remember that what precedes the conclusion should create it. Make sure you do not just repeat the introduction as that translates to a weak conclusion. This is your parting shot at the reader. Did you adequately make your argument? Use this final opportunity to stress how well and confidently you did!

  • Restate your topic and why it is important
  • Restate your thesis/claim
  • Address opposing viewpoints and explain why readers should align with your position
  • Call for action (if your thesis proposes a change in policy) or overview future research possibilities
