Publishing We will use Publisher and Photoshop for
the following activities. By now, you should be comfortable enough with both
applications to think of innovative ways to approach the tasks. You may use
templates or blank publications to begin, but most of the work will demand your
creativity. Use Mr. Janes’ links to copyright-free
resources if you need clip art or better yet, create your own! Print a minimum of two copies – One
for Mr. Janes and one (or more!) for you. Coloring Book Pages (10)
Using clipart, create a book of ten
(minimum) coloring book pages with a Christmas theme (portrait orientation). In
Publisher, change an image to grayscale or use the recolor clipart feature to
recolor the clipart to white and leave the black parts black. Some clipart (if
the outlines are not black) will not be useful, so select carefully. Include a
hollow outlined WordArt with a Christmas message. Include a name/age blank for
the child entering the coloring contest somewhere on the coloring page. See
links for a website with example coloring pages. Ornaments (5) For
this project, you are creating a flyer that utilizes the drawing tools in
Publisher. Create a layered shape similar to that below (comprised of four
different shapes) and then layer to look something like the picture at the right
(but be creative!). Make the filled oval and the stroke/border. That’s the basic
ornament. What can you do to impress me (and your loved ones)? We’ll print it
out on heavy stock and laminate it so it will hang nicely on a tree. Photo Card (1) Need
I say more? No
directions at all on this one. What
can you
do? |
